Why
a Teen training?
For many years, VisionWorks International has been doing trainings in
various formats for young people. Teen Programs are designed to enhance
self worth and personal responsibility. In trainings students engage
in activities that reinforce cooperation, respect, accountability, leadership
and parent-youth relationship skills. In the safety of a training room,
teens confront major issues facing young people in today’s world,
and they come to workable solutions. We, the Teen Staff, are committed
to supporting them in creating positive results in their lives. By answering
the issues and needs of the young we can solve today’s problems
and build a better tomorrow.
Participants
complete the program with improved ability to take constructive risks
by learning to ask more of themselves as they overcome limiting attitudes.
By learning to work together, teens gain deeper understanding of the
joys of cooperation and the value of sharing common goals. Through a
context of accountability, participants experience the joy of being
responsible for their own well being while promoting the well being
of others.
We
are eager to support young people in discovering their personal worth
as they contribute their gifts and talents to the community and to the
world. We appreciate the uniqueness of each individual and support individual
choices that serve the highest good. Dealing effectively with peer pressure
and resisting coercion are among the gains achieved by our youth. Instead
of creating an atmosphere of “Do it OUR way!” or “There’s
only ONE way!” the Teen Staff encourages creativity, self-confidence,
individuality and group problem solving.
VisionWorks
offers a unique setting of physical and strategic challenges where people
can become more self-aware. Both in the classroom and on the Ropes Course
young people explore their fears and confront their limitations. Experienced
personnel trained in safety and interactive facilitation staff the outdoor
experience. Trainers with more than twenty years of experience in the
field facilitate classroom sessions and supervise all Teen Programs.
Teens are invited to come to the training with a willingness to participate
at 100%. Individuals are urged to go one step more than they thought
they could go by taking responsible risks. Teens are also are encouraged
to see each other in a new, inclusive light that transcends clique environments,
and from there they can support each other past self-limiting fears
and doubts. Students come away from the program with the realization
that through accountability and conscious choices, they can make a difference
in peer groups and family relationships, to have a positive influence
on their own lives and the lives around them.
Invariably,
participants feel the personal accomplishment that can be attained by
working cooperatively with others. Participants also report being more
honest by feeling attuned to truth. This alignment allows the individual
to be singular yet cooperative; unique yet harmonious; uncommon, while
joyfully sharing common ground.
VisionWorks
International is an organization whose principle members have forty
years combined experience in conducting personal effectiveness and communications
seminars in the private and corporate sectors. The facilitators who
conduct the seminars have worked in the national and international arena;
they bring a variety of professional backgrounds to their work.
